FLOATING STRATUM

Site is the symbol of culture and history of Tokyo itself located in center of Tokyo. We raise up this cultural and historical stratum, serve the chance to citizen to show the section of diversity of culture.

SCOOPED GROUND

Remained space - where stratum raised – become an open square for citizen. This is easy to access using slope to enter into the square and function as a lot of cultural communications such as concerts, performances, exhibitions, debates and playing on the playground-like square.

From this space, students get pop culture from those systems and help them to think more variously

INFORMATIONALIZATION OF STRATUM

Today’s Tokyo stratum is the real evidences of how Tokyo built up, compressed appearances at that time. Also contemporary pop culture is derived from past it. Likewise, today’s culture is developed by many events like stratum. If so, future culture will make from past one. Nutritive elements of future pop culture, stacking books as data, give place to get information to students.

PROMENADE

We propose hallway to access stratum. Then, people can see stratum easily at the outside of building, also users can get information easily at the hallway. And set core in the middle of building to approach from square.

CULTURAL CELL

Inner side of stratum is contemporary pop culture factory based on past culture. Today’s interesting pop culture is made of interconnection of culture.  Likewise, animation is based of cartoon and music. So, each pop culture is independent like a cell and sometimes each room interweaved space for easy cross-fertilization
